Roger Hartley (PR)

Affairs, Roanoke College. B.S.P.A. Indiana
University (1991); M.A.
University of Georgia (1993); Ph.D. University of
Georgia (1999). Is
a
political scientist who studies court reform,
legal institutions, and
judicial behavior. He teaches courses in
constitutional law, law and
society, alternative dispute resolution, social
science methods, and
criminal justice. He does research on
various topics related to
lower
federal court judicial selection, state court
budgeting politics, and ADR
as a court reform. To date, he has published
in journals including Law
and Society Review, Judicature, and
State Constitutional
Commentaries
and Notes. Dr. Hartley is also a
contributor to the Law and
Society
Association's Collaborative Research Network on
Judicial Reform and
Alternative Dispute Resolution, writes in legal
encyclopedias, reviews
for a number of journals, and is an avid political
commentator. He
serves the community of Roanoke, Virginia as the
Secretary of the Board
for Conflict Resolution Center, Inc. He is
married and has no children
and loves trail
running.
