-- Ph.D. University of Natal (Durban) in applied
plate tectonics/metamorphic
petrology/geochemistry. Experience on
ultradeep South African gold and base metal
mines, and in shallower base metal and coal
operations. Currently involved in
kimberlite/diamond exploration and a practicing
geoscientist. Published poet and
Pseudoliterary Critic. He also
makes up his own words. Currently
publishing extensive data from Ph.D. and
collaborating with staff at SA geology department
in new research.

Hans-Peter Plag (PR)
-- Professor (Mathematical Models in Geodesy) at
Mathematical Institute, University of Oslo,
Norway; Head of Department "Global Reference",
Geodetic Institute of the Norwegian Mapping
Authority, Norway. PhD in geophysics in 1988, Free
University of Berlin, Germany. Author of more than
30 peer-reviewed articles on Earth rotation, Earth
and ocean tides, sea-level variations,
post-glacial rebound, Earth mantle rheology, and
atmosphere, ocean and solid Earth interactions, as
well as the development of integrated global
observing networks. Member of the American
Geophyscial Union and member and officer of the
European Geophysical Society. Member of the
Editorial Board of the Journal of
Geodynamics and Physics and
Chemistry of the Earth. Since 1998 Chair of
the COST Action 40 "European Sea Level Observing
System (EOSS)".
